Google, RCom Deal – 1GB free data Offer on 3G Android Devices
Reliance Communications has entered into an exclusive collaboration with Google Inc. to bundle its 3G data service with every Google’s Android OS running device such as Samsung, HTC, LG and Sony. That means if you have a Google authorized 3G enabled Android phone along with Reliance 3G service enabled, you will be getting 1GB of data absolutely free for one month. After the free 1 GB data is exhausted, users will be charged at the regular rate of 10p/10kb.
The offer will go live from April 14 and will last till June 15, 2012. With this two year deal, Reliance becomes the first telecom operator in the country to collaborate with Google. The Google has similar tie-ups with telecom operations in Australia, US and in Japan. The Blue Bot Campaign has been launched officially by both Reliance and Google in the country in order to promote Android operating system amongst users across the country, while at same time marketing Reliance’s 3G services. The Reliance is reported to spend around 30 crores just to promote that campaign.
How this offer works
You have to purchase or upgrade connection to Google approved 3G Android phone. Then you have to make a first voice call. Reliance then will provide you the 1GB of free 3G data via OTAF (over-the-air-functionality) with in 72 hours of making first call. After that, you will receive a confirmation SMS from Reliance for the same. If, for any reason, you could not be able to receive the offer, just call to RCom customer care. Provide them the TAC Code (first 8 digit of your handset’s IMEI number).
